Fairfax, VA, September 13, 2000 - STG, Inc., one of the nation's fastest growing Information Technology (IT) and professional services firms, has been awarded a four-year Blanket Purchase Agreement by the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) located in the Federal Building (Federal Climate Complex), Asheville, North Carolina, for "Mission Support Services" according to an announcement made today by Simon Lee, STG's President. The contract has a potential value of $8 million.
In making the announcement, Mr. Lee stated, "This contract is a strategically significant inroad for STG into a new Federal agency -- the NCDC. We are excited about the prospects of expanding our mission support activities within NOAA, and are honored to have been selected once again by the Department of Commerce to provide crucial records management services in support of national historic assets."
NCDC's mission is to manage the Nation's resource of retrospective global climatological data and information and to describe, monitor, and assess the climate. In support of this mission, STG will perform data management functions including acquisition, quality control, processing, summarization, dissemination, and preservation of records. STG also will operate multiple computer systems, maintain both the digital media library and climate archives collection, maintain small computer equipment, process customer orders for a variety of climatological data and information products, and perform mail services and technical support, such as computer systems Analyzes and programming.
