STG, Inc. Awarded Four Department of Transportation Contracts Valued at $360M

Fairfax, VA, September 13, 2000 - STG, Inc., one of the nation's fastest growing Information Technology (IT) and professional services firms, has been awarded four, seven-year, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity  contracts by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Transportation Acquisition Service Center (TASC) for "Value-Added Niche Information Technology Services" (VANITS), according to an announcement made today by Simon Lee, STG's President. The contracts were awarded in four distinct IT functional areas, and have a potential value of $950 million. 

In making the announcement, Mr. Lee stated "This contract represents a significant achievement for STG, and recognizes our sustained, superior work on other major IT contracts.  It also represents the largest number of combined contract awards by any federal government agency since STG was established in 1986.  We are extremely pleased to have been selected as a strategic partner by DOT.  This award will enable us to further expand our diverse IT services - especially in two of our premier service areas: Information Security with eSecurity, Inc., and Knowledge Management with Information 1ST, Inc., our subsidiary companies." 

The four VANITS functional area contracts include: Business Intelligence Services - to evaluate, plan, develop, deliver, and integrate data warehouse/data mining solutions, and provide technical support; Secure Communications Services - to provide a full range of IT infrastructure security consulting, implementation, and integrity support services; Systems Transition/Migration/Remediation Services - to provide infrastructure and support for moving applications and systems between and within information systems architectures and environments, post Y2K remediation for windowing, and other remediation activities; and Operational Maintenance Support - to provide qualified and experienced staff and management for continued support of implemented and/or deployed systems and operational maintenance solutions.
