STG Inc, Joins North America's Elite, Certified Under the ISO 9001:2000 Standard

Fairfax, VA, November 13, 2002 - STG, Inc. achieved its ISO 9001:2000 certification (Certificate Number US-2173) on November 4, 2002, through Intertek Testing Services? (ITS) quality management systems (QMS) business unit, affirming that STG Federal adheres to the internationally recognized quality standard.  STG Federal joins North America?s elite, certified under the ISO 9001:2000 Standard for its provision of corporate management services relating to the supply of enterprise support, security engineering, information management, telecommunications, and IT solutions (including the design of software applications) across a variety of Government and commercial contracts.

According to Simon Lee, President & CEO, ?STG?s management chose to seek ISO 9001:2000 certification linking its ISO-compliance with STG?s corporate strategy to better support clients through efficient management, to assimilate STG?s latest acquisitions, to improve its competitive position in the industry, and to add value to employees? work environments.? 

After four months of planning and implementation, STG, Inc. joins only 10 percent of U.S. firms that have achieved certification for their QMS to ISO 9001.  All members of the STG family of companies helped the corporation achieve this significant milestone.  In addition, STG achieved a separate ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2001 for its major program with the Environmental Protection Agency in support of the National Telecommunications Services Contract.

As noted by the Assessor from ITS, STG?s ?Management System is in conformance to the audit scope and can be considered effective in assuring that quality objectives will be met?based on the evaluation of the assessment of (STG?s) activities, documentation, objective evidence, sampling, and interviews.? STG passed its Registration Assessment without any non-compliances or observations. This is an outstanding accomplishment for such a large and geographically dispersed firm, proving STG?s preparedness, ease of auditing, as well as corporate and employee commitment.  Now that STG staff members have the basic tools for building and improving STG, its position in the competitive marketplace is even stronger.
