The Department of Commerce Awards STG COMMITS NexGen


Reston, VA, September 23, 2004 - STG, Inc., a leading provider of information technology (IT), technical security, engineering, and scientific services support to the U.S. Federal Government, announced today an award from the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) under the Commerce Information Technology Solutions Next Generation (COMMITS NexGen) contract. This award is one of fifty-one (51), 10-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, task order contracts with a potential value of $8B.

COMMITS NexGen succeeds the five-year, $1.5 billion COMMITS vehicle that expired in June 2004. Under COMMITS NexGen, any federal agency can buy IT services from pre-qualified small businesses, including minority-owned and other disadvantaged businesses. STG was chosen for its technical experience, service quality, mission capabilities, past performance and price. STG was one of only 15 of the original 58 COMMITS vendors that was awarded a position on NexGen.

?Competition for NexGen was intense,? said Patti A. Stang, Contracting Officer for the COMMITS NexGen Program, ?Out of over 400 proposals only approximately 12% earned a spot on the vehicle. These companies represent the best of the best in small businesses, and we are very confident that we have assembled an outstanding group of service providers to answer our customers? needs.?

STG has performed over $100 million in task orders on the original COMMITS vehicle for the U.S. Army and task orders at DoC including the Office of the Secretary and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
