Reston, VA — February 10, 2009 — STG, Inc., a leading provider of information technology (IT), technical security, engineering and scientific services, announced today that the company has been reappraised as fully compliant at Maturity Level 3 with the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI®-DEV) Version 1.2. This prestigious rating is conferred on companies that have established well-defined, repeatable and effective organizational standards for project management, software engineering and quality assurance while maintaining a focus on continuous process improvement.
“Achieving this CMMI Level 3 recertification is a testament to STG’s commitment to providing the highest quality products and services to our customers,” says Paul Fernandes, Chief Operating Officer of STG. “This accomplishment is important recognition of the processes, engineering capabilities and supporting systems and services that we use to deliver results and make a difference with each and every STG customer. This CMMI credential — coupled with our ISO 9001:2000 quality management system (QMS) — will continue to enhance our competitive positioning as one of the most sought after solutions and services companies in the world, bringing customer satisfaction with exceptional results that are delivered in an unparalleled manner.”
Conformance with the 22 process areas prescribed by SEI CMMI Maturity Level 3 was appraised using the CMMI Standard Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI). The SCAMPI method involves the examination of many types of evidence, as well as interviews with senior corporation leadership, sector managers, service center directors, program managers, quality assurance and configuration management personnel, and related organization and project employees in STG facilities across the U.S. to demonstrate that standard processes are being followed and continually improved. The evaluation was conducted by an independent SEI-authorized lead appraiser from Cyber Solutions, Inc., an SEI Partner based in Centreville, Virginia.
