STG Employee Wendell Moon Named Information Assurance Professional of the Year by the Army's CIO/G6
Reston, VA — August 25, 2008 — STG, Inc. is pleased to announce that Wendell Moon has been selected as the 2008 Information Assurance (IA) Professional of the Year in the contractor category by the Department of the Army’s Chief Information Officer/G6. Mr. Moon is assigned to the Regional Chief Information Office-Korea, which is part of the 1st Signal Brigade.
The IA Professional of the Year award is given not only to contractors but soldiers, DA civilians and special projects. The award recognizes those professionals who excel above and beyond expectations.
“One of the key things about winning the award is that it’s teamwork,” said Mr. Moon. “It’s working with the leadership to get the guidance and in which direction to go in certain programs. It’s working with the DOIM (Directorates of Information Management) and the various customers to get their take on it [Information Assurance]. So winning this award was not just an individual accomplishment.”
Among his many achievements throughout the year, Mr. Moon led the transition from the Defense Information Technology Security and Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) to the new DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Mr. Moon was also named Employee of the Quarter at STG.
Last year, Mr. Moon served as Project Lead of the team that won the Army’s 2007 IA Professional Award for the Most Innovative Project or Implementation by a Unit or Command.
“All of us at STG are extremely proud of Wendell’s accomplishments,” said Simon Lee, President and CEO of STG. “Since joining STG in 2006, he has continued to excel and far exceed expectations in every task he has undertaken. I am honored to have him as part of our STG family.”
